Director of Human Resources—GOVCON Industry
As the Leader in Recruiting Intelligence, The Edens Group has been retained by a leading provider of mission support and training services to the U.S. Intelligence Community to recruit a Human Resources Director to oversee all aspects of their HR department. Our client’s mission is to assist in the analysis, operational and technical solutions for the most complex national security challenges by delivering superior advice, building trusted partnerships and augmenting the capabilities of their customers.
Job Summary:
As the Director of Human Resources, you will ensure that HR strategies are aligned with the Company’s business goals. Your primary focus will be on:
- Being comfortable with a “seat at the table”.
- Enjoy hands-on in the trenches everyday work that supports the team and the firm.
- Growing the organization at their inflection point to a process and procedure firm that endeavors to support future initiatives in expansion.
- Evaluating and augmenting current tools and systems in use and putting forth recommendations for future tools.
This role requires a seasoned HR professional with at least 10 years of experience who can manage complex employee relations, compliance with federal contractor regulations, performance management, and employee development initiatives. Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the HR department, overseeing onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and HRIS administration.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with organizational goals related to staffing, recruiting, retention, and workforce planning.
• Develop, implement, and oversee HR policies, processes, training programs, and initiatives that support compliance and drive organizational effectiveness.
• Administer or oversee all Human Resource programs, including compensation, benefits, leave administration, performance evaluation, disciplinary matters, investigations, and employee engagement.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with Fed and SLED employment laws and government contracting regulations, including OFCCP, EEO, FLSA, and other applicable labor laws.
• Conduct research and analyze HR metrics and trends to inform strategic planning and enhance HR programs and services.
• Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on human capital management and cultivate a positive work culture that supports employee satisfaction and retention.
• Lead employee and manager training, development, and certification initiatives to promote continuous learning, professional growth, and organizational capability.
• Manage employee benefits and compensation plans, ensuring competitive, equitable offerings aligned with organizational goals and market trends.
• Serve as a resource for conflict resolution, promoting fair and equitable treatment of all employees and fostering a culture of accountability and respect.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in HR, and communicate relevant updates to leadership.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall organizational success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s , degree preferred).
- Active security clearance is preferred
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience
- Experience working in a government contracting environment
- Comprehensive understanding of HR principles, including employment law, talent management, and employee relations.
- Proven ability to align HR initiatives with organizational strategy.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to navigate complex employee relations matters and foster a positive workplace environment.
- HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
